Measure Distances on Webpages with Page Ruler Chrome Extension

Are you tired of manually measuring distances on webpages? Look no further than the Page Ruler Chrome extension . With a total rating of 3.65 out of 5, this handy tool allows you to measure distances in pixels on any webpage.

Introducing Page Ruler: The Best Web Scraping Tool

Page Ruler is a simple and useful web scraping tool that comes in the form of a Chrome extension . It adds a rectangular ruler to your browser, enabling you to measure distances with precision. Whether you're a web developer, designer, or simply someone who needs to measure pixel distances on a webpage, Page Ruler is the ideal solution for you.

How Does Page Ruler Work?

Page Ruler's functionality is straightforward. Once activated, the ruler appears on the webpage, allowing you to easily measure distances. You can move your mouse around the page to resize the ruler and see real-time updates of the width, height, start, and end values in pixels. This feature ensures accurate measurements and saves you the hassle of manually calculating distances.

To activate the addon, simply click on the toolbar button. You can easily toggle the ruler on and off whenever you need it by clicking the toolbar button again. Please note that Page Ruler is designed for use with mouse clicks on desktop machines. For touch-enabled devices, you can utilize touch gestures to draw the rectangle within the page.

User Reviews: Pros and Cons of Page Ruler

Let's take a look at what users have to say about their experience with Page Ruler:

  • Piero Sebastiani: "I loved this extension, but is there an option to remove the 'Ruler mode' thing? I'm measuring the pixels of my website's logo, which is at the top left corner, and that 'Ruler mode' box covers it. Also, amazing extension!"
  • Evangelos Chaldaios: "Simple and useful."
  • Jeff Markovich: "Worked well for what I need it for. In pixel format, X to X position, Y to Y position, difference is W and H respectively. You can turn it off in Chrome simply clicking on the puzzle piece chrome extension icon in the top-left and clicking on the extension again."
  • Marcel Brode: "Not a good ruler. Gone after one click and you can't adjust the dimensions of the box you created. Not usable for Web-Development."
  • Simon Delves: "Doesn't work well, the overlay covers screen elements, or runs off screen so you can't read the dimensions, forces a grid open that covers what you want to measure."
  • Leo Su: "It's absolutely the worst possible thing you could ever install. It overrides cursor making it impossible to do anything with the grid turned on, defeating the purpose of having a grid. Not only that, after you remove the extension the plugin remains active!!! and you have to close the page you are on to get rid of it. If you are working on anything that needs saving, you can't disable this plugin to save with the cursor... DO NOT INSTALL THIS!"
  • Alex Xc: "Too many same confused values in one place with small sizes. I just want to see X and Y sizes. Nothing more."
  • Saeed Sleiman: "Great extension."
  • Nastya Zotova: "Good tool, works great and easy to use."
  • Opalidol: "Works nice, thanks for your work."

Exactly what I needed. Thanks! (Using in the latest Chrome update 2/2024)

Saitama Sensei

not working for me.

Abrar Zahin

It's useful when it actually works. But unfortunately this is not the case most of the times. Often after taking one measurement it just stops working and doesn't measure anymore. Often the ruler does not show up and when it does show up, it's in incorrect position. I am done with this useless extension.

Ibrahim Khalil

So far good. Using it while my front end tasks. Thanks.

it very good tool , but we need to have more control on the settings like the control to show or the hide each measure for example if i mesure just the width there is no need to see the x , y and h , one more thing we need to have the control to remove that yellow "ruler mode" at the very top left of the screen.

Roneil N. Cadayona

I try it now by the time i write it so far none problem it works and >> I DOES NOT TEST if measurement is correct <<. If any problem occur ill be back to let you guys know.

Dragon Family

Great tool

Pontus Erlandsson

It's okay, problems I have with it is that if you measuring something at the top of the screen the measured values go outside the screen. If you're measuring something when a dialog/overlay is open the overlay will be above the ruler and make it impossible to measure.

Mujammil Hossain

Very nice, Very fast and easy, personally I loved it.......!

Dobom Kft

Love it, really needed this functionality, it's also great that it disables when clicking esc

Piero Sebastiani

I loved this extension, but is there an option to remove the "Ruler mode" thing? I'm measuring the pixels of my website's logo, which is at the top left corner, and that "Ruler mode" box covers it. Also, amazing extension!
